Christine Wilson, MA
Executive Consultant/Trainer
Christine Wilson has been described as “innovative,” “a strategic thinker” and as an instructor “who made me really think about my writing.” No surprise, as she’s been a writing coach and specialist for 16 years and an instructor for nearly 12.
Her experience is vast and diverse: she worked on the Hill researching complex legislative issues and in that role learned how to write quickly, a strategy she often teaches participants. She specializes in one-on-one coaching, rhetoric and composition, literacy skills, and critical thinking best practices; all of her academic publications and conference presentations speak to these topics.
Clients include The IRS, ADP, SullivanCotter, Verra, and Medstar, among others. She teaches “Better Business Writing,” “Writing for Engineers,” and “Exceptional Technical Writing,” in addition to specialty classes.
What makes Christine unique?
- She strongly believes that each writer has his/her own unique strengths and perspective, which she encourages participants to leverage in their writing.
- As a logical and thorough critical thinker, she can quickly distill and assess the core concern of almost writing issue and help solve it.
- She believes the two most underused skills are reading and ensuring writers emotionally distance themselves from their text, two things she works on with participants in her Hurley Write classes.
