Founder and President of Hurley Write, Inc.
Pam Hurley, PhD, earned her doctorate in technical writing from the University of South Carolina and has taught scientific writing at Duke University, The George Washington University, The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and several other universities in the North Carolina system.
She founded Hurley Write, Inc., a certified DBE- HUB- and women-owned small business (WBENC and WOSB), in 1988 and incorporated the firm in 2000. Pam, an award-winning lecturer, has published in The Monitor, Biotechnology Focus, The Federal Register, and Training Magazine. Pam is a sought-after speaker; an experienced technical writer who has written and edited standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical and user manuals, and other technical reports and documents; and who believes passionately that everyone, regardless of background, can learn to write well if provided the proper tools.
Pam presented at the 2016 ATD Conference in Denver, CO, with Bob Wiltfong, formerly of The Daily Show; the title of their presentation was "How to Take the BS Out of Business Speak."
Hurley Write, Inc., a certified women-owned small business (WBENC and WOSB), Historically Underutilized (HUB), and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), has been designing and teaching customized onsite and online technical, business, and scientific writing courses for over 25 years. We also develop and teach specialty courses, such as how to write proposals and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and deviation and investigation reports, and how to prepare and give great presentations.
