Founder and president of Hurley Write, Inc.

Pam Hurley, PhD, has a varied background in developing and teaching technical, business, and scientific writing courses. She has taught writing in academic institutions, including Duke University, The George Washington University, and The University of North Carolina, and in various industries and companies, including GSK, The National Institutes of Health, the USDA, Parsons Brinkerhoff, Sikorsky Aircraft, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Novartis, to name a few (
client list). In addition, Pam has developed online courses, including technical writing, scientific writing, writing SOPs, business writing, and writing the scientific manuscript, which are used by organizations to help their staff hone their writing skills. Pam, an award-winning lecturer, has published various articles related to writing in many different journals and trade publications, including The Monitor, Biotechnology Focus, The Federal Register, and Training Magazine. Pam is also an experienced technical writer who has written and edited standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical and user manuals, and other technical reports and documents.

Richard Gillette Meloy

Dick Meloy, MBA, joins Hurley Write with a substantial and varied career background, including serving as Chairman of the Board of a venture-funded, clean energy technology company; working in commercial banking and investments; and serving as Director of New Business Development for the power project finance unit of GE Capital.

His experience includes working for management consulting firms Booz, Allen & Hamilton (now Booz & Co.) and Greenwich Associates. Dick’s vast writing experience includes writing consulting reports, consulting letters, sales letters, investment product descriptions, investment transaction summaries, business plans, and grants for both public and private organizations.

Dick has addressed seminars and annual conventions for such organizations as the National Association of Food Chains, the National Wholesale Grocers Association, The Oil and Gas Investor, the Federal Reserve Banks, and a broad range of commercial banks. In addition, he has published a series of analyses of supermarket companies and authored an article in The CPA Journal. Dick majored in history at Trinity College and earned his MBA at the University of Chicago.

Dick will work with Hurley Write developing and teaching writing courses for banks and consulting firms.

Naomi Mendelsohn, PhD

Naomi Mendelsohn joins Hurley Write, Inc. with a substantial background in medical education, clinical research, regulatory affairs, and marketing. Following a successful career in academe, the pharmaceutical industry, and medical education, she became a freelance medical writer. Her services are based on scientific accuracy and rigor. Naomi has spent more than 15 years providing writing and consulting services to pharmaceutical companies, CROs, medical education companies, and medical advertising agencies. Her experience covers a wide range of therapeutic categories
with a strong emphasis on immunology and cancer clinical research. Her specialties include preparing scientific articles, investigator brochures, INDs, clinical study reports, monographs, sales training manuals, slide kits, patient information brochures, and related material.

Steven Duffy, PhD

Steve is a manuscript, fellowship, and grant editor. He is the recipient of a Young Investigator Award from the National Alliance for Studies on Schizophrenia and Depression (NARSAD), a Heart and Stroke Foundation Fellowship, and studentship and post-doctoral fellowship from the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research (AHFMR). He has authored over two dozen original research articles, several book chapters, and has taught cellular and behavioral neuroscience at the University of Alberta and at the University of Toronto. He provides substantive editing on manuscripts in neurophysiology, cognitive neuroscience, neurology, pathology, molecular psychiatry, clinical psychology, cell signaling, and pharmacology/toxicology.
